BTX Global Logistics is excited to be celebrating 44 years of delivering a world of service to customers around the globe today. Established in 1980, the organization is stronger than ever with more than 40 regional branches strategically located across North America.
BTX continues to grow in footprint, scope of services and personnel in order to deliver exceptional service to its customers. Below are some key Company highlights from the past year we would like to share with you:
May 2023
Daisy Acervida joins BTX Corporate as the Vice President of Finance adding 19 years of experience in public accounting in various industries to the BTX network.
August 2023
Martin J. Capuano is appointed President of BTX Global Logistics. Capuano joined BTX as its Chief Financial Officer in 2016 and has worked in the logistics industry for the past 23 years.
“Marty is a phenomenal person who has been instrumental in the growth of the organization,” said Ross Bacarella, BTX Chief Executive Officer. “His honesty, integrity, and commitment to BTX make him the perfect person for this new role. We are very lucky to have him.”
January/February 2024
John Eastland joined BTX as Chief Commercial Officer in January of 2024, and adds Jason Dennis as VP of NGO and Government Solutions in February, to focus on the development of the Company’s Government/Military and Non-Government/Humanitarian Relief divisions.
March 2024
On International Women's Day, March 8th of 2024, BTX surpassed the industry average of women working in leadership in the supply chain industry of 26% (according to 2023 Gartner/AWESOME, Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management and Education, report) with 32% of its Corporate senior management being made up of women and 34% of BTX branches fully or partially owned/managed by women.
BTX opened BTX-CMH in Columbus, Ohio. Led by Michael and Yulia Blackburn, the branch specializes in international Air and Ocean shipping, domestic and transborder shipping, asset recovery, Next Flight Out, and is located in “the logistics distribution heart of the United States.” In July of 2024, BTX-Columbus further strengthened its position in the local market by acquiring an existing office and adding its members to its team.
BTX also expanded its footprint in Texas with BTX-DFW. Led by Matt Truitt, it specializes in aviation/ aerospace/ AOG, military and government, telecommunications, medical, 3PL, and fulfillment/warehousing and distribution.
April 2024
BTX expanded its Western footprint with the addition of BTX-SEA in Seattle, WA. Owned by Michael Blackburn and David Macey, the branch focuses on international trade. In addition to its location near a bustling port, the branch offers 10,000 sq./ft. of in-house warehousing space and an additional 55,000 sq./ft. of space just miles away from its office.
Brad Johnson of BTX-Austin (AUS) acquired the BTX-San Francisco branch to further expand its services. The Austin branch has been part of the BTX network since 2011 and focuses on international, domestic, cartage, project cargo and pick-and-pack specialty fulfillment services.
Longtime BTX-branch owner, Rick Nettleton, of BTX-Reno (RNO) sold his business to Rob LaVoy, Alex LaVoy and Grant Dehne in order to retire. The new members of the BTX family specialize in truckload brokerage and renewable energy.
May 2024
BTX’s new Mission, Vision and Values statement was unveiled to the network. It encompasses BTX's values and says, “Delivering a world of service by empowering our team, supporting our community and building lasting relationships with our customers through trust, integrity and excellence in communication.”
Every year, BTX gives back to local communities through a wide range of sponsorships and philanthropic initiatives through its BTX Cares program. Most recently, BTX participated in the “Step Up Challenge” for the Homes for the Brave in support of veterans in need.
June 2024
Phase I of the new MyBTX was deployed to existing customers and MyBTX users. The new MyBTX was designed with customer feedback in mind to offer a sleek new look to the platform along with additional tabs and features that include the ability to quote, ship, track, view account status and aging, manage user rights, and much more from a computer or mobile device. BTX also rolled out new platforms to give stations more real-time insight into their business' performance.
PDX in Portland, OR, was also added to the BTX network. Led by Dan Mulligan, the branch specializes in customized fulfillment and distribution solutions, transloading, and offers 30,000 sq./ft. of secure, bonded warehousing space for those that need duty-free storage.
BTX-LGB in Long Beach, CA, also joined BTX in June. Owned by Shaun Stellman and Mulligan, the Long Beach station focuses on 3rd party fulfillment and distribution services, retail consolidation, transloading, and pool point distribution. It also offers over 99,000 sq./ft. of warehousing space.
August 2024
Len and Claudia Bacarella, of BTX’s CT Operations (BTX-BDR/BDL), expanded their East Coast territory with the acquisition of BTX-Boston from longtime owner, Richard Fisher, who retired.
BTX added the PWM branch in Portland, ME, to its footprint. The BTX-PWM branch is owned by Josh Ireland and focuses on BTX’s wide range of services in the Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont areas.
September 2024
Glenn Patton joined BTX Corporate as VP of Risk Management & Compliance for the Company, further strengthening its focus on these areas. He has a robust background in insurance and a longstanding relationship with BTX through his many years at Roanoke, BTX’s insurance provider.
October 2024
The 2024 BTX Systems Meeting was held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2nd. The meeting, which is held yearly, gathers station owners, managers and the Corporate leadership team to collaborate, network and discuss how to stay ahead of industry challenges to continue to provide best-in-class services to all customers. This year's theme was “rising to new heights” together.
