BTX Surpasses Industry Average on International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements on March 8th of every year. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements and rally for women's equality.

In honor of IWD, BTX Global Logistics, a worldwide shipping and logistics organization, would like to thank all of the women in the supply chain management and logistics industry for their invaluable contributions to everyday business.

"Women play an integral part in our daily lives. They are smart, dedicated, productive, and add valuable insight to every situation," said Ross Bacarella, CEO of BTX Global Logistics. "Being great as an organization means being agile, responsive, inclusive and continuing to strive to diversify our team at every level."

According to the 2023 Gartner/AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management and Education) report, women are now represented within the supply chain industry at historic levels making up 41% of the total supply chain workforce and a record-breaking 26% of the C-suite and executive leadership. BTX has surpassed this benchmark with women now accounting for 32% of its Corporate senior management. In addition, 34% of BTX branches are fully or partially owned/managed by women.

"As a woman who grew up in the industry and as a mother to two daughters, I am proud to see how far we've come and look forward to seeing us achieve even more for women in this sector in future years," said Claudia Bacarella-Ghitsa, Managing Partner/Owner of BTX-CT Operations (BDR/BDL).

The Gartner report goes on to illustrate how women's representation in the Supply Chain has increased at almost all levels of leadership as illustrated in the chart below:

"Every member of the team plays a special role in propelling a Company forward," said Sharon Hoffman, VP of Corporate Strategy at BTX. "As a woman in an executive role at BTX, I am happy to see more women joining our workforce across all levels of the organization."

With the ongoing growth and demand of global e-commerce, the supply chain and logistics industry will continue to create and develop more career opportunities for everyone in the future.

As an equal opportunity employer, BTX is looking forward to continuing to diversify its workforce in coming years. To learn more about careers with BTX, visit www.btxglobal.com/join-the-team.
