Air Freight and Aerospace Logistics Leader Celebrates National Aviation Day

Happy National Aviation Day! On this day 81 years ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared August 19th as National Aviation Day to honor our nation’s achievements in the skies and to celebrate the birthday of civil aviation pioneer Orville Wright. As a global freight-forwarder that provides shipping and logistics services, BTX Global Logistics understands first-hand the importance of airplanes, aviation and aerospace in today’s world.

In just a handful of generations, the aviation and aerospace industry has developed into one of the most innovative and profitable markets worldwide generating $250B annually. Across the globe, there are 3,200 airports with 60,000 trade lanes, and 68 million jobs that are supported by the aviation industry. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), airlines transport over 52M metric tons of goods a year, representing more than 35% of global trade by value.

The growth and dependability in worldwide air freight has become a logistical strength and core service line for BTX Global Logistics. In fact, by the year 2004 BTX launched its own Aerospace and Aviation division solely dedicated to providing logistics support and fulfillment services to leading commercial and military aircraft operators and manufacturers.

BTX currently ships over 25,000 AOG, work-stop, routine and economy deliveries per year servicing OEM’s, operators, leasing companies, distributors/part suppliers, MRO’s and O&G and handles the shipping and logistics needs for twenty of the Aerospace industry’s top companies.

“At BTX, we understand that time and precision are of the utmost importance in the Aerospace and Aviation industry and our company is fully committed to that every step of the way,” says BTX Vice President Len Bacarella, head of the BTX Aerospace and Aviation division. “If you need a part, a tool or mechanic’s toolbox to be expedited, you can count on us to serve you and protect your products".
