National Aviation Day has been celebrated every year on August 19th since its establishment in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This date was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Orville Wright and to celebrate all things pertaining to aerospace and aviation.

Air cargo transports over US $6 trillion worth of goods, accounting for approximately 35% of world trade by value.”
