BTX Global Logistics, an award winning, full-service logistics company, can add a new—and very special—feather to its cap: it has recently been awarded a 2016 Top Workplaces honor by Hearst Media Services.
The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement.
This honor is particularly special, as it originates with the employees. “At BTX, we pride ourselves on strong leadership that is engaged and invested in not only in our customers, but in our employees,” says Ross Bacarella, BTX President and CEO. “So when we receive an award that reflects the culture we strive to foster, it’s a great endorsement by the very people we look to support, both professionally and personally.”
As if to underscore Bacarella’s statement, are the comments from the employees themselves: “My co-workers are like family, as opposed to someone I work with. I feel satisfaction in bringing in new customers and solving problems as part of a team.”
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. Oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits", said Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics.
To be considered a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. Several aspects of workplace culture are measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.
Who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
