THE CHALLENGE
This crucial cargo, consisting of Department of Defense secure equipment, assigned by the prime contractor, began its journey at our BWI-IAD branch in Baltimore, MD. From there, it traveled across the continental United States to our BTX-SFO location in San Francisco, CA, before being air freighted to its final destination in Incheon, South Korea. Each step of this journey demanded rigorous security protocols and meticulous planning.
We proudly navigated tight deadlines, chose the most efficient routes, and coordinated seamlessly with military bases. Upholding the Defense Transportation Regulations (DTR) and adhering to HAZMAT regulations were essential.
These operations demand expertise in navigating complex import/export regulations, coordinating multimodal transports and ensuring timely delivery despite unpredictable obstacles.
THE SOLUTION
BTX Global Logistics leveraged its global footprint and operational excellence to provide an end-to-end logistics solution and ensure timely delivery without any issues. BTX adopted a proactive approach by implementing a series of specific procedures and controls. Our team coordinated with our vendors to take photos at each step of the journey to verify compliance. Additionally, BTX coordinated the secure packaging required in such shipments, which included using BTX logoed security tape, metal banding, and seals. Due to BTX’s strong strategic partnership with the airline, they fully supported this objective, working closely with the DoD to monitor, scan, and track our freight at every step. When the freight arrived in Korea, our driver captured photos for final verification, ensuring everything matched perfectly.
BTX ensured that the essential cargo reached its destination safely and efficiently by using secure transport methods, including satellite tracking. Carriers were vetted, and security locations were strategically planned in coordination with the prime contractor and their protocols.

Our operations and commitment to compliance ensured that this assignment was executed with precision, reliability, and security. The transit time and accuracy adhered to the customer’s agreed-upon schedule, with no security incidents reported.
